Other departments including Agriculture and Rural Development, Plan and Investment, Labour- Invalids and Society, Traffic, Resource and Enviroment, Health… also attended the working session.

Within the framework of the working program, the Advisory Group of JICA and relevant provincial departments evaluated the status of Rural Development Project based on the results, Technical Guidelines and Additional Information, Survey of Priority Sub-projects, GAP and other issues.

At the first working session, the Advisory Group made specific assessments of Yen Bai Province achieved in 2016. Accordingly, the agricultural promotion activities achieved good results when comparing to other provinces. However, Yen Bai province has not achieved high results on the social activities include the handbook on maternal and child protection and prevention of human trafficking.  The Advisory Group proposed Yen Bai province to push up the planned activities in 2017 for agricultural promotion and social activities as well as budget approval for agricultural promotion activities in the province.

The two sides also discussed about the sub-projects (including projects of flood prevention and slope protection) that will be prepared for the application of preferential loan conditions.

Delivering speech at the working session, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang – Vice Chairman of Yen Bai PPC welcomed and thanked JICA for working in Yen Bai as well as supporting Yen Bai recent times.

The Vice Chairman hoped JICA to continue supporting Yen Bai to complete the plan. At the same time, the Consultative Group should continue to instruct the departments to work out solutions to complete the dossier submitted to the Government. The Advisory Group  and the provincial specialized agencies selected the flood prevention sub-project.

Yen Bai province will direct the relevant departments and localities to spend time and human resources on completing the work under the guidance of the consultant as well as allocate provincial budget for agricultural promotion and the social activities of the project.
