YBP- In the morning of August 15, the delegation of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and International Save for Children support flood afected children in Mu Cang Chai.
Mr. Ta Van Long – Deputy Vice Chairman of Yen Bai PPC met and worked with the delegations. Mr. Ta Van Long announced the flood happened in Mu Cang Chai and its affect on people in this area.
According to to information from Vietnam Misnistry of Education and Training, the floods caused injury to students anad damage to school structure (classroomd, latrines) and learning materials. In Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province, 4 schools were affected with all most school assets damaged, including 4 class rooms, 245 tables, 105 blankets for kindergarten children, 1 latrine and 2 water supply systems and other learning materials.
Before the huge lose of Mu Cang Chai province and Yen Bai, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations called for international organizations to help Mu Cang Chai and local people to overcome difficulties and loses.
Responding to the call of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Save the Children has pledged to support VND 1,7 million for students and schools which have been affected by floods in Mu Cang Chai.
International Save for Children will also make survey in Mu Cang Chai in order to support schools by providing school furniture and school supplies and rehabiliating latrines, hand washing stations and water supply system. Through its action, Save for Children wanted all students in Mu Cang Chai to be able to attend the new school year of 2017-2018 and to continue learning.
On behalf of Yen Bai leaders, Mr. Ta Van Long thanked the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and Save for Children and other international organizations for helping and supporting Yen Bai and Mu Cang Chai district. Yen Bai considered this action is the precious encouragement for student to start a new school year.
