Being an extremely difficult commune of Mu Cang Chai district, Nam Khat has 9 villages with more than 960 households and over 5,100 people, over 98% of the population are Mong people. With the advantage of unique cultural traditions of the Mong and beautiful natural scenery, Nam Khat is attracting more and more visitors.

Mr. Thao A De - Vice Chairman of Commune People's Committee said: "Due to low educational level, the ability to use and develop models and types of tourism is limited so local tourism develops slowly. Currently, the commune has a model of ecological resort, some households preserve traditional job and Hua Khat village is planned to develop community tourism ... ".

It is known that although Mu Cang Chai Ecolodge in Hua Khat village was put into use in the end of 2017, with the unique style of service, decoration combined with the attraction, friendliness with the natural environment, it has attracted tourists to visit, relax, especially lowlanders and foreigners.

With the goal of becoming a village of community tourism, the commune has also taken advantage of the policies of the Party and State to upgrade rural roads, power lines and water in Hua Khat village; at the same time, mobilize people to care for, protect and develop Son Tra trees, forest peach trees, apricot trees, plum according to planning to serve visitors to visit the blooming season and ripening season. In addition, some households have also preserved to promote the  traditional career such as the processing of Khen Mong, knitting Lu Co ...

Along with the development of community tourism, Nam Khat is naturally given some beautiful natural landscapes to develop exploring tourism, including caves in Pu Cang village, which is currently being embellished by Thinh Dat joint stock company.

With the harmony between nature and the will of the people, the determination of the local authorities and people, tourism in Nam Khat is growing, attracting tourists to visit and relax.
