1. Developing the relationship with Vieng Chan, Xay Nha Bu Ly province (Laos)

Inheriting and promoting the traditional relationship between Vietnam and Laos, the cooperation between Yen Bai province and Vientiane, Xay - Nha - Bu - Ly (Laos) provinces is increasingly expanding.

2018 marked the 10th years of establishing the friendly relationship between Yen Bai – Vieng Chan. Up to now, Yen Bai has trained 131 Vientiane students in teaching, nursing, tourism. Yen Bai province also supported Vieng Chan VND 6.4 billion to build 4 construction aiming to raise the quality of education in Vientiane.

On the gained achievements in the relation between Yen Bai and Xay Nha Bu Ly, in the visit in Yen Bai of Mr. Phong Sa Van Sit Tha Vong – Member Central Party of Laos Revolutionary Party, Secretary and Governor, two sides signed an agreement to deploy cooperation activities in 2019 in the fields of union exchange, military, education and information technology.

2. Expanding the cooperation with Val-de-marne

Promote the effective implementation of the cooperation framework agreement for the period of 2014 - 2019, in 2018, Yen  Bai and Val de Marne exchanged 4 delagations  and continued to implement 6 cooperation projects in the fields of water, health and culture, rural development, training and capacity building.

In 2018, the construction of semi-boarding houses at Le Van Tam secondary school, Pung Luong commune, Mu Cang Chai district which had been supported 30,000 Euros by the Provincial Council of Val-de-Marne, was completed. The construction aimed to improve the quality of teaching in remote, isolated and extremely difficult communes of Yen Bai province.

Through cooperation projects and bilateral meetings, the local people have gained a better understanding of the cultures, countries and people of the two countries, contributing to deepening the relationship. strategic cooperation between Vietnam and France

3. Promoting commerce and investment into Indian market

Receiving the invitation of Indian Ambassy in Vietnam, from March 27 to April 1, Yen Bai delegation led by madam Pham Thi Thanh Tra – Secretary of Yen Bai Provincial Committee visited and worked in Rajasthan State in India. The delegation visited the Centre of Stones. This is an autonomous organization promoted by the Government of Rajastahn, a State which has huge reserves of white marble which provide great potential for development of large-scale white marble mining and processing industry. The State is one of the biggest stone mining and processing centres in India.

During the visit, the delegation also worked with Vietnamese Embassy in India about holding conference on investment promotion for Vietnamese enterprises to introduce to India businesses the potential, promotion opportunities for investment in Vietnam.

4. Promoting commerce and investment into Russian market

From August 7 to August 12, Yen Bai delegation promoted invest and trade into Russian market and worked with Embassy of Vietnam in Russia. Two sides agreed with the content on introducing and popularize the image and potentials of Yen Bai province to Russian enterprises in order to promote pillar and potential goods into Russian market as well as develop tourism between two countries.

5. Yen Bai participated the economic corridor governor forum

At the forum, Mr. Do Duc Duy – Chairman of Yen Bai PPC will have a speech to introduce about potentials, chances and investment policies in Yen Bai and two cooperation projects with localities in GMS Economic Corridors. Yen Bai province proposed cooperation with Yunnan province (China) on training and retraining young officials in the state management, social management, new rural construction, urban development management and small and medium enterprises business management...

6. Attracting and using effectively ODA capital

There are 12 ODA projects which have been implementing in Yen Bai province with total value of more than VND 3 thousand billion. Yen Bai province has cooperated with units outside and inside province to mobilze 7 ODA projects from World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Saudi Arabia Goverment, Japanese Government to invest on construction of urban - transport - agriculture and rural development infrastructure, overcoming consequences of natural disasters and health with a total investment of 2,990 billion VND.

From 2007 to 2018, World Bank has sponsored Yen Bai province with 10 projects with a total capital of over VND 2,033 billion. These projects have contributed to improving and upgrading urban infrastructure, transport, irrigation, domestic water, environmental sanitation, community health care, investing on facilities for education, agriculture and rural development.

7. Working with representatives of foreign embassies and other international organizations in Hanoi

On the occasion of the new school year 2018 - 2019, on October 5th, Delegation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by Mr. Pham Sanh Chau - Assistant Secretary of Foreign Affairs together with representatives of foreign embassies and other international organizations in Hanoi visited and organized the inauguration ceremony donating classes for Binh Thuan Kindergarten, Binh Thuan Commune, Van Chan District. The classes for Binh Thuan Kindergarten in Binh Thuan commune was built by Bac Thang Long Construction and Trade Consulting JSC. The construction was built in area of 470m2 with two floors, 4 classrooms. Total capital investment for the construction is VND 2.4 billion dong in which VND 700 million dong is donated by embassies in Vietnam.

After nearly 6 months of construction, the project has been completed and handed over on the occasion of new school year 2018 - 2019. In this school year, Binh Thuan Kindergarten has 11 classes, with 347 pupils. When putting into use, the construction have contributed to meeting the conditions of material facilitie and helping teachers and pupils continue to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

8. Improving the effectiveness of people's external affairs in the new situation

During the term 2013-2018, the Union of Friendship Organizations of Yen Bai province has many practical activities in the fields of peace, friendship cooperation, non-governmental sector, contributing positively to all levels, branches and people in the province promote economic development, social culture and international integration.
