The leaders Van Yen received “The registration of geographical indications for Van Yen cinnamon products”.

Van Yen district is known as with the largest cinnamon area in the country with more than 40 thounsands hectares. Cinnamon tree not only help people here remove hunger, reduce poverty but also become the symbol of economy and culture of Dao people. Cinnamon tree also help to green hill and mountain and protect environment. The 3rd festival is the chance for Van Yen advertise cinnamon product as well as Van Yen image and people to the people inside and outside the country.

Van Yen is the capital of cinnamon. Cinamon product of Van Yen is not only famous in the country but also exported to, America, Taiwan, South Korea and many Western European countries with a large income. Cinnamon has become a key economic sector of the district. Especially since the Intellectual Property Department - Ministry of Science and Technology has issued a decision to certify “The registration of geographical indications for Van Yen cinnamon products”, the value of cinnamon products in the district has been improved, contributing to increasing economic efficiency, creating a sustainable brand for the product.

This festival with the theme “Van Yen cinamon – Aspire for further”, delagates, people and tourists enjoy the excellent and impressive art programme with the join of more than 200 artists. This is the highlight of the festival which reappear the land and people since the time reclaiming soil; fighting enemies to protect the peace for the land; the programme also reappear the appearance of the cinamon tree with sacred stories, associated with the identity of ethnic minorities, especially the Dao people, as well as the connection between cinnamon with the land and its people.

At the festival, Van Yen district was honorly received “the certificate of registration of geographical indications” Van Yen for cinamon bark products issued by the Intellectual Property Department of Thailand. 15 typical units and businesses have also received the logo of Van Yen district because of their great contribution to the development of Van Yen cinnamon and cinnamon festival in 2019.

In the framework of the festival, there are many acitvities such as: displaying stalls selling products of communes, selling local products, displaying the process of planting, harvesting cinnamon; displaying the technique in manipulating and producing handicafts from cinnamon; art photo exhibition with the theme "Van Yen land and people" .
