The delegation of Yen Bai province led by Mr.Nguyen Chien Thang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, together with leaders of Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, Department of Education and Training, Department of Industry and Trade attended the Conference.

At the Conference, more than 700 participants listened to the discussion sessions of experts, representatives of authorities, business community and educational, cultural and tourism agencies of the two countries; raised specific questions and comments to promote deeper, more practical cooperation between the two sides on areas of mutual interest such as technology and innovation, education, environment, tourism ...

The localities participating in the conference also promoted their localities and connected with British partners through meetings with British ambassadors and business leaders, as well as through display booths with rich and diverse documents and products.

On the sidelines of the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Vice Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee had a private meeting with Mr. Gareth Ward, British Ambassador in Vietnam and Mr. Christopher Jeffery, Chairman of British Business Association in Vietnam. At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province introduced to the British Embassy in Vietnam and the British Business Association in Vietnam the potentials and strengths of Yen Bai province in economic development, preferential policies in attracting investment for businesses as well as opportunities for cooperation between Yen Bai province and partners from the United Kingdom. He wished the Ambassador and Chairman of the British Business Association in Vietnam to introduce investors to explore investment opportunities in Yen Bai province.

The Conference "Meet the UK in 2019" is part of a series of regular events by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to increase support for localities to cooperate with important international partners around the world.
