YBP- Being located at the heigh of about 1.300 meters to 1.400 meters above sea water lever and more than 200 kilometers far from Hanoi city, Suoi Giang (in Van Chan district, Yen Bai province) has clean and cool weather and villages of H’mong people hanging on hill sides. It is considered as Sapa of Yen Bai.

In Suoi Giang, there are old tea trees garden which has been existing for hundred years with an old tea tree at the age of about 300 to 400 years old. Old tea tree is not high but has luxuriant leaves and rough trunk which make a shadow of a dozen diameter. Standing on the highest place of Suoi Giang commune to throw your eyes sight far away you can see small villages of H’mong people lying among a green sea of tea. Pang Cang village becomes a very interesting place for tourist for its population is totally H’mong and it still keeps original living tradition and architecture of H’mong people.
Visiting Suoi Giang, tourists have relaxing time and experience of native people life. Hundred-year-house on stills of ancient H’mong people are made of fujian cypress wood. Its smell, pervasive in the fresh air, seems to stimulate our taste. In the distance, behind frog, mountains are looming. And steps of stair of houses on stills, terraces and terraces on your sight bring you interesting feelings. Tourists can try H’mong food such as chichken, young pigs, dried buffalo meat, sticky rice, forestry vegistable and cassava wine. The most wonderful thing is that you, even at meals or chatting time, always have a cup of green Snow-Shan-tea which is grown by farmers there.
Tea is picked up and dried by skillful hands of H’mong women. Boiled tea looks like honey and tastes sweet that is long lasting on your tounge.
In Spring, you have chance to experience many special festivals of H’mong and Thai people. The most interesting is Gau Tao festival and Tea worship festival in New village of Suoi Giang commune. Meanwhile Gau Tao festival performs general culture of H’mong people with Pan-pipe sound and song to find love, Tea worship festival is considered as a very special festival in Suoi Giang. In the first days of a new year, heads of villages and the old people gather around the oldest tea tree in the New village to pray and worship. The worship is taken very early in the morning with sticky rice, wine, votive paper and unable to be lack of black cock. This cock has black stone and meat and feather.
Suoi Giang has been planned to be ecotourist region with many interesting targets of relaxing and understanding local culture. Suoi Giang ecotourist region is in cloud all seasons.
