On March 10th, the Delagation of Japan International Cooperation Agency led by Ms.Yanagisawa Miki - Senior Advisor of the volunteer program had a meeting and courtersy to the leaders of the Yen Bi Provincial People's Committee on the occasion of ending the term of 2 Japanese volunteers in Yen Bai province. Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Vice Chairman welcomed and worked with the delegation.
On the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Vice President of Yen Bai thanked Japan for the help Vietnam for years. Especially, JICA has had many programs helping Yen Bai province developing in many fields: economy, culture-society, education, tourism…
Mr. Thang also emphasized that in the past two years Japaness volunteers working in Provicial General Hospital and Women's Union have provided a great deal of support to Yen Bai province in implementing projects on development associated with environmental protection, community tourism development for women members in the province, as well as the province's health sector.
Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang – Vice President of Yen Bai Provincial People’s Committee highly appropriated the efforts and responsibility of Japanese volunteers. Mr. Thang also said that Japanese volunteers are “bridge” that help to strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and Japan. Mr. Thang wants JICA, in coming time, to have more cooperation programs and support for not only Yen Bai province, but also other provinces in Vietnam.
On behalf of the Delagation, Ms. Yanagisawa Miki thanked Yen Bai province and people for warmly welcome for the degation and Japanese volunteers for the pass few years. Ms. Miki said that JICA would continue to discuss about cooperation on fields for Yen Bai in the coming time.
On this occation, Yen Bai Provincial People’s Committee rewarded certificates of merit to two Japanese volunteers for their outstanding achievements in implementing the Vietnam-Japan development cooperation program.
