YBP - On December 22, in Ngoi Dong village, Gioi Phien commune, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Gioi Phien bridge in Yen Bai city. This is the 8th bridge across the Red River in the province and the 5th bridge to be constructed in Yen Bai city.

Investment project to build Gioi Phien bridge, with a total investment of 650 billion VND, including the bridge and the path at the two ends of the bridge. In particular, the bridge part is permanently designed with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete, including 10 spans, over 518 m long, 20.5 wide. The project's starting point is at the intersection with the road project connecting National Highway 37 with Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway, in the territory of Van Phu commune; the end point of the project is at the intersection of new national highway 32C and the beginning of sub-branch 2, on the road connecting national highway 32C with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, in the territory of Gioi Phien commune. The project is executed by Joint Venture Trung Chinh Trading and Construction Company Limited - Nam Phong Trading and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company. The construction of the Gioi Phien bridge is expected to be completed in 24 months.
When the Gioi Phien bridge is completed and put into use, it will contribute to completing synchronously the infrastructure and traffic system, ensuring the connection between the two banks of the Red River, forming the connecting axis from Noi Bai – Lao Cai expressway with National Highway 32C, Highway 70 with Au Co Street and connecting with Yen Bai city center, creating a highlight and a premise for the development of urban space in Yen Bai city towards the right bank of the Red River located in the province's long-term development strategy, in line with the traffic planning and contributing to turning Yen Bai into a well-developed province in 2025 and in the group of leading developed provinces of the Northern Midlands and Mountainous region by 2030.
