Through bringing key products on e- commerce platform, Van Chan hopes to develop digital agruculture, rural digital and improve qualification and value of agriculture.
Van Chan has many key products such as: Tu Le rice, tea, orange, honey, bamboo shoots, products from cinnamon... Many products have been had trademarks and geographical indications such as: Tu Le Sticky Rice, tortoises, Van Chan orange, Honey body. Besides, there are 19 products of the district have also been granted OCOP certificate.
Van Chan district currently has 3,641 production and business households, of which 469 households process and trade in agro-forestry products, 51 households wholesale agro-forestry products.
Van Chan district determine to bring agricultural products on e-commerce platform help to diversify market and distribution channels, avoid dependence on certain markets, reduce risks when the market is unstable.
However, in the process of bringing agricultural products to the current e-commerce platform such as Postmart.vn and Voso.vn, there have been difficulties and challenges such as: product to buyers must be fresh so it requires a strict product preservation process.
Products on e-commerce have commited to have good qualification from units in the chain, cooperatives and farmers. Therefore, farmers have to upgrade knowlegde on digiatal technology on production and agricultural product sale.
In order to step up bringing agricultural products on e-commerce platform in the coming time, Van Chan district wil continue to raise awareness of farmers about the benefits of selling and buying goods on the e-commerce platform; functional units to guide and train digital skills, skills to participate in activities as well as promote and introduce agricultural products in the digital environment for farmers and cooperatives; support to connect agricultural production households with e-commerce floors to guide participation in transactions; develop documents to guide agricultural production households to register for accounts and put agricultural products on the e-commerce floor in various forms.
Supply information of crop, productivity for e-commerce platform; guide agricultural households to bring products on e-commerce platform. Train and guide agricultural households about digital skills and the way to use smart devices during the transation on e-commerce platform; building a process of packing - connecting - forwarding to support operation techniques for agricultural production households in the process of connecting and buying and selling on the e-commerce platform; deploy solutions on traceability of reputable goods on the floor to ensure product quality as well as the reliability of customers when buying agricultural products of the district.
