At this time, the specialized agencies and units of Van Chan district have started activities to participate in the ceremony to receive the UNESCO Certificate of registration "Art of Xoe Thai" as the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity and open Muong Lo Culture and Tourism Festival; Festival of discovering the Special National Landmarks Mu Cang Chai Terraces in 2022.
Van Chan district identifies this big event as an opportunity to introduce and promote the tangible and intangible cultural values and unique tourism products of Van Chan to attract domestic and international tourists, create livelihoods for local people, as soon as there is a plan of the Provincial People's Committee, the People's Committee of Van Chan district has developed a plan to assign specific tasks to each agency, unit and locality; strengthen exploitation of potentials and strengths, focus on mobilizing many investment resources for tourism development, ensuring effectiveness and sustainability in association with conservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities. The district also ensures infrastructure, food safe, safety for tourists.
Besides activities in the festival such as: street parade, OCOP products and cuisine display, performance of ethnic cultures..., Van Chan district also organizes many activities in Suoi Giang and Tu Le communes.
Accordingly, Suoi Giang Tea tree honoring festival will take place on 24th September at NaHi village, Suoi Giang commune with many main activities. Besides, there are 270 primary schools, secondary schools, high schools and other educational centres holding many necessary activities: traditional martinal arts, xoe dance, sap dance, rumba, traditional dance…in many schools in provinces.
Mrs. Phung Thi Thuy Kieu – Teacher at Hong Thai primary school in Yen Bai city said: “At breaktime, the school hold many activities such as: traditional dance and flashmod to preserve and promote traditional culture of ethnic groups which creates good conditions for students exchanging culture and building healthy, safe and happy school environment. These activities help to foster cultural beauties, understandings and loves of young people for traditional folk”.
In Nghia Lo town, all schools have built green, clean and beautiful campus with typical culture of Thai people; forming a cultural experience space in schools with folk games, folk songs and learning Thai ancient writing language.
