In 2022, the province's collective economic sector, the core of which is the cooperative,  continued to be consolidated and have positive changes. The whole province established 97 new cooperatives, reaching over 120% of the provincial target assigned in 2022; dissolved 27 cooperatives. Currently, in the province there are 652 cooperatives (including 622 cooperatives operating under the Law on Cooperatives 2012) with over 32,000 members; 5,894 cooperative groups with nearly 31 thousand members. The average revenue of the cooperative reached VND 2.1 billion/cooperative; the average profit of the cooperative reached VND 450 million/cooperative; the average income of employees in the cooperative is VND 5.3 million/month; paid over VND 38 billion  to the State budget.

With the goal of developing a dynamic, efficient and sustainable collective economy, together with the state economy becoming a solid foundation of the national economy with many cooperation models, in 2023, Yen Bai province strives to establish 80 new cooperatives or more, encourage cooperatives to build a new model of cooperatives associated with the value chain of key commodities, actively supporting the development of household economy; establish 300 or more new cooperative groups, encourage the qualified cooperative groups to develop into cooperatives; 100% of newly established cooperatives organize and operate in accordance with the Law on Cooperatives; 100% of members doing management work in newly established information-economic organizations are trained and fostered knowledge on management and professional skills every year; at least 61% of the total number of active cooperatives are at good grade or higher; strive for the average income of members and employees in the cooperative to reach VND 63 million/person/year or more, members and employees in the cooperative groups to reach VND 45 million/person/year or more; create jobs for about 9,600 regular workers in cooperatives.
