Yen Binh district has over 2,000 ha of fruit trees, of which there are over 1,000 ha of Dai Minh pomelo trees, mainly planted in Han Da and Dai Minh communes with over 600 ha.
Dai Minh pomelo is a specialty and staple fruit tree of Yen Binh district. Over the past time, the Party committees and local authorities have paid attention to directing to improve the quality and value of products through the agricultural production according to VietGAP standards; inviting research institutes and universities to implement science and technology projects to maintain and improve the quality of Dai Minh pomelo products. In 2016, Dai Minh Pomelo was granted a trademark and certificate by the National Office of Intellectual Property of "Dai Minh Grapefruit"; By 2020, Dai Minh pomelo was granted geographical indication of Kha Linh Pomelo, Dai Minh commune.
Some communes in the district with pomelo growing areas have been granted planting area codes by the Provincial Sub-Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection. Currently, in the district, there are 02 cooperatives that have been granted 3-star and 4-star OCOP product certificates.
At the conference, representatives of RYB Joint Stock Company and Dai Minh Specialty Grapefruit Cooperative signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in exporting Dai Minh specialty pomelo products to the US market.
The agreement to cooperate in exporting Dai Minh pomelo products is of great significance, creating opportunities for local pomelo products to access the world market; at the same time, help businesses and farmers get higher profits from this specialty fruit.
