YBP - On October 25, the Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai province coordinated with the Department of Trade Promotion of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to organize a conference "Connecting trade between suppliers in the Northwest region and export and promotion enterprises in 2023".

At the conference, Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee informed about the potential, strengths of Yen Bai province. He said: “Yen Bai province has formed a number of concentrated agricultural and forestry raw material areas such as: planted forest wood; cassava area; tea area; cinnamon region; Bat Do bamboo shoot area; Son Tra... In addition, Yen Bai has also formed areas to grow specialty trees: Dai Minh grapefruit, Tu Le sticky rice, Suoi Giang ancient tea, Luc Yen orange, medicinal plants... Besides, Yen Bai has many mineral resources to develop the mining industry. The province's export market is increasingly expanding with many rich and quality products. Currently, import and export activities of the province's enterprises are to about 50 traditional markets (China, India, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, America...) and more than 30 other markets.
Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc hoped that production and business enterprises of Yen Bai province and the Northwest region would continue to take advantage of support from localities and departments under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Counselor, Trade Office in other countries in trade promotion, expanding product consumption and export markets; proactively research information and requests from markets, especially markets in countries under Free Trade Agreements that Vietnam has joined; invest and apply new and advanced technologies to meet standards of quality and food safety regulations.
The Department of Industry and Trade of the Northwestern provinces is a bridge to help businesses and suppliers expand consumption markets, promote brands and increase the value of goods; grasp difficulties and obstacles in the fields of trade, import and export; coordinate with relevant units to support businesses in innovating science and technology, connecting farmers with manufacturers and export businesses to create value chains, associated with research and development of raw material areas to improve the quality and value of products.
He requested the Counselors and Trade Offices in other countries to continue to pay attention, connect and introduce businesses that produce and process strong products of localities in the region to world markets.
At the conference, representatives of the Departments of Industry and Trade of the Northwest provinces would continue to support businesses in promoting technology, promoting joint ventures and partnerships; focus on reviewing policies in calling for investors, creating a truly open environment for businesses; planting and processing agricultural products and joint ventures in production to stabilize inputs with good quality to serve processing factories; diversifying types of domestic and foreign trade promotion. In addition, the provinces would promote research to grasp business needs to support with appropriate types of promotion; strengthen and promote digital transformation in implementing trade promotion activities.
Representatives of counselors and trade departments from India, Pakistan, and China discussed with localities and businesses about the markets and consumer needs of the countries. Delegates discussed solutions to consume products in the current context; quality requirements for export products and procedural documents; optimize sales content on e-commerce channels.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Organizing Committee arranged a display area to introduce typical products and export potential of the Northwest provinces.
At the conference, there were 20 memorandums of cooperation signed among the Industrial and Trade Promotion Centers of provinces, suppliers, retail systems, and businesses.
