Recently, in the capital city of Hanoi, the People's Committee of Hanoi organized the 10th Vietnam-China Economic Corridor Cooperation Conference with the theme "Expanding Forms of Partnership and Cooperation among Vietnamese and Chinese Provinces and Cities in the Economic Corridor to Promote Economic Development in the new situation".
With the theme "Expanding Forms of Partnership and Cooperation among Vietnamese and Chinese Provinces and Cities in the Economic Corridor to Promote Economic Development in the New Situation," the conference aims to continue to enhance the effectiveness and maintain good relations between the regions. It sets out substantial cooperation contents that are highly feasible and aligned with the development requirements and potential advantages of all parties involved.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang believed that "With the high determination of the localities and the active and effective participation of businesses from both sides, the cooperation in the Vietnam-China Economic Corridor among the five provinces and cities will achieve even greater achievements in the future, contributing to the further development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China".

Speaking at the discussion session, Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province, emphasized: "2019 was an important milestone in the development of the cooperative relationship between Yen Bai province and Yunnan province, with many effective and substantial cooperative activities organized and implemented in various fields such as trade, investment, culture, personnel training, delegation exchange, COVID-19 prevention, local-level cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges".
Mr. Phuc proposed that the provinces and cities of Vietnam collaborate to study and submit a joint proposal to the government for approval of the overall plan for the development of the economic corridor: Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh. This plan aims to determine the strategic vision and specific plans for each phase, aligned with regional and local planning, in order to maximize the advantages of Vietnamese provinces and cities along the economic corridor. It also aims to accelerate the connectivity of economic and social spaces, creating a foundation for promoting investment cooperation and trade exchanges. Moreover, it emphasizes strengthening cooperation in training and capacity building for personnel, enhancing the quality of human resources, implementing exchange activities, and learning from each other's expertise in the medical field. It also promotes cultural and people-to-people exchanges, fostering understanding and friendship among the people of different localities, enhancing education on Vietnam-China friendship among the population, improving mutual understanding between the people of both countries, especially the younger generation, and increasing participation in trade, cultural, tourism, and traditional festival activities organized by provinces and cities.
He expressed the desire for the localities to support Yen Bai's early membership as an official member of the Vietnam-China Economic Corridor in order to promote investment cooperation, education, and cultural development for the socio-economic advancement of the localities along the Vietnam-China Economic Corridor.
