On December 18th, at the Boarding High School of Yen Bai Province, the Korean International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam and Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee organized a ceremony to hand over the project "Supporting Equipments for some ethnic minority Boarding and Day Schools in Yen Bai Province".
The Korean International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam handed over a project to support equipments for several boarding and day schools in Yen Bai Province, with a value of $500,000.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Lee Kyung-dock, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam; Ms. Yoo Soo Yeon, Deputy Director of the KOICA Vietnam Office; Mr. Y Vinh Tơr, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee's Executive Committee, Deputy Minister, Deputy Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee.
On Yen Bai province's side, there was Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee.
After the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Committee for Ethnic Affair and Yen Bai provincial People's Committee of Yen Bai province signed a memorandum of understanding on April 13, 2023, Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with KOICA, relevant agencies to developed the necessary document on grant aid for the project "Supporting Equipments for Some Boarding and Day Schools in Yen Bai Province". Additionally, the Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision approving the project grant fee aid for the project "Supporting Equipments for Some ethnic minority boarding Boarding and Day Schools in Yen Bai Province".
There have been 8 ethnic minority boarding schools and Mo De Primary and Secondary Day School in Mu Cang Chai district, which have received enough teaching equipment as proposed, including: 9 IT rooms; fifty-five 85 Inch TVs, 50 laptops, 39 HDMI cables, 11 projectors, eleven 180 inch electric projection screens, 24 air conditioners. The project has been completed, contributing to innovating teaching methods, providing students with a visually engaging learning environment, and improving the quality and effectiveness of education.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh said: Despite facing various challenges, Yen Bai Province always prioritizes allocating resources to invest in infrastructure and equipment for schools, especially boarding schools, day schools to ensure the best implementation of teaching and learning tasks. However, due to limited resources, some investment needs have not been fully met according to practical demands.
In this project, the Korean government provided non-refundable aid of $500,000 worth of equipment for 8 ethnic minority boarding boarding schools, primary and lower secondary day schools in Mo De. This equipment supplements the teaching and learning activities and contributes to the implementation of the 2018 General Education Program, improving the quality of education and enhancing the learning environment for students in boarding schools throughout the province.
Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh also respectfully thanked the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, KOICA Vietnam Organization, and the Committee for Ethnic Affair. Yen Bai Province also commits to direct the Education and Training sector and beneficiary units to properly manage and use equipment to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulations.
Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh hoped that Yen Bai Province will continue to receive the attention and support of the Korean government, particularly the Embassy of Korea in Vietnam and KOICA Vietnam organization. She also expressed gratitude for the partnership and support from the Ethnic Affairs Committee in the province's socio-economic development and the field of education and training.
On this occasion, the representative of the Korean International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam handed over the $500,000 project aid to some boarding schools, day schools in Yen Bai Province.
