At the working session, Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc introduced to the working group the development situation of Bat Do bamboo shoots in Yen Bai province.

Up to now, the area of Bat Do bamboo shoots in the province has grown to a scale of over 5,877 hectares, mainly concentrated in Tran Yen district at 4,207 hectares, accounting for 71.6% of the Bat Do bamboo shoots area. Besides, the tree also distributed in some districts: Luc Yen, Van Yen, Yen Binh and Van Chan district. The area of Bat Do bamboo with stable bamboo shoots is about 4 thousand hectares, with an average yield of 20 tons/ha/year. Fresh bamboo shoot output in 2022 will reach over 85.5 thousand tons. Every year the whole province plants 300 - 500 hectares of Bat Do bamboo shoots. Yen Bai province also issued many policies supporting farmers and enterprises planting and processing Bat Do bamboo shoots products which aims to expanding the planting area; increasing productivity; helping farmeres reduce poverty.

The project to build a Yamazaki Vietnam bamboo shoot processing factory in Hung Khanh Industrial Cluster, Tran Yen district, was granted an investment policy at the end of 2020. Currently the project has gone into production and has been completing investment business procedures.

In 2023, the Company exported 500 tons of fermented salted bamboo shoots and 150 tons of dried bamboo shoots from Bat Do bamboo shoots, with total revenue estimated at 23 billion VND. Currently, the Company creates jobs for 66 local workers.

In response to Yamazaki Company's proposal to expand the bamboo shoot processing factory for export to produce and process Bat Do bamboo shoot products, expand the area of bamboo shoot material areas in Tran Yen district and other localities in the province, Standing Vice Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Phuoc welcomed businesses to invest in deep processing of agricultural products, especially processing products from Bat Do bamboo shoots for export to the internationalmarket.

The Standing Vice Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee pledged to continue to accompany and support investors during the project implementation process in the province.
