YBP - On April 6th, the Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai province organized a conference to meet with businesses involved in mineral exploitation, processing, and export in Luc Yen district. Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended and directed the conference.
Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the delegation grasped the production and business situation at RK Vietnam Marble Co., Ltd
Currently, in Luc Yen district, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Provincial People's Committee of Yen Bai have issued 38 valid mineral exploitation licenses to 37 organizations and businesses. The district has a total of 26 mineral processing plants that have been granted investment certificates, including 10 white stone processing plants that are operating relatively stably, 1 suspended stone splitting plant, and 15 white stone processing plant projects that have not yet been implemented. There are currently 24 units in the district exporting white stone products.
During the conference, businesses involved in mineral exploitation, processing, and export in Luc Yen district openly discussed and highlighted the difficulties and obstacles they are currently facing in their production and business operations. The main focus was on the challenges of paying the mineral exploitation rights fees due to difficulties in production and product consumption, the significant difference between the actual quality and quantity of minerals compared to the approved geological reserves, the difficulty of arranging proper waste disposal sites that pose safety risks, the challenge of ensuring the safety corridor of mines due to the allocation of land within unsafe blasting radius areas, and the need to adjust the mining system as the mining areas approach the border and reach deeper depths.
The businesses all expressed that the current high export taxes and resource taxes, coupled with the inability to deduct input value-added taxes for processing businesses, have led to increased production costs for their products.
Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of relevant departments and agencies actively listened to and directly addressed the recommendations and difficulties of businesses.
At the same time, they have requested that businesses, during their operations, comply with and effectively implement legal regulations, such as having land lease contracts, environmental permits, fully paying the mineral exploitation rights fees, carrying out mining operations within the granted scale, and ensuring good management of safety in mining activities.
Mr. Ngo Hanh Phuc affirmed that Yen Bai province always accompanies businesses. In the future, the province will continue to reduce administrative procedures to create the most favorable conditions for businesses. It is requested that Luc Yen district continues to listen to the sharing and understand the difficulties of businesses in order to timely resolve them.
