Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan and Mayor of Naju City signed the Cooperation Agreement on establishing cooperation relations at the local level between Yen Bai province and Naju City, Korea.

During the working session, Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan thanked the Mayor of Naju City for sparing time to welcome and work with the delegation.

Mr. Tran Huy Tuan briefly informed the Mayor about Yen Bai province's potentials, strengths, and the socio-economic development situation of Yen Bai province in 2023 and the first 6 months of 2024. He also informed about Yen Bai province's international cooperation situation and cooperative relationship between Yen Bai province and Korean partners.

Thanking the information shared by Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, the Mayor of Naju City expressed his gladness to welcome the leadership delegation of Yen Bai province for the visit and working session. In a brief introduction about the locality, the Mayor said that Naju City is located in the central-western region of Jeonlanamdo province, Korea, considered as a "fertile land", a "small Seoul" with an area of 608.4 km2 and a population of 117,179 people. Naju City has strengths in industry, electric and electronic industries, and agriculture (famous for Naju rice and pears). Currently there are 16 large industrial groups here. Naju is promoting infrastructure development and economic projects to improve living standards and attract foreign investment. The city also pays attention to environmental protection and sustainable development with support policies and encouragement of clean energy use and living environment protection. Naju City has a renowned comprehensive university, Dongshin University of South Korea, established in 1987.

With its own potentials and strengths, the Mayor of Naju City hoped that in the coming time, Naju City will have exchanges and cooperation with Yen Bai province in areas such as: receiving labor force, tourism and agriculture.

At the working session, the Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee and the Mayor of Naju City signed a Cooperation Agreement on establishing cooperation relations at the local level.

The main contents of the Agreement were to strengthen and expand cooperation to bring mutual benefits to both sides; exchange information and experiences to cooperate effectively in fields such as: technology; agricultural labor, education, international students, skilled - high technology labor; human resource training; trade investment. This is an important milestone and foundation for implementing cooperation activities between Yen Bai and Naju provinces in the coming time.

Dongsin University and the Vietnam-Korea Business Investment Association will be the coordinating units to support cooperation activities between the two localities.

On this occasion, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan respectfully invited the Mayor to visit and work in Yen Bai province to learn more about Yen Bai province and discuss specific cooperation contents together. In response to the invitation, the Mayor of Naju City expressed his willingness to arrange time to visit Yen Bai province at a suitable time for both sides to discuss and exchange views on fields of cooperation.
