On July 17, Van Yen District and Goheung County, Jeollanam Province, Korea held a conference to sign an agreement on seasonal labor cooperation.

Providing information on the district's socio-economic development, with a focus on the local labor situation, Van Yen leader said: Van Yan district has an abundant labor force, with over 80,000 laborers of working age in the district, of which 74.6% are trained laborers, and 75% of the labor force works in agriculture and forestry. The number of laborers in the district eligible to participate in overseas labor markets is over 40,000 laborers. A quick survey shows that currently in the district there are over 400 laborers who want to work seasonally in Korea in 2024.
At the conference, representatives from Goheung County, Jeollanam province, Korea also provided information on the county's labor recruitment needs.
According to the agreement, Van Yen district and Goheung county agree on the criteria for selection and reception of laborers applicable to both male and female laborers aged 25 to 45, with no more than 200 people per year (the number of exported laborers will be agreed upon by both sides), working in agriculture. The seasonal work period is 3-5 months, with wages agreed upon.
After discussions, Van Yen district and Goheung County reached consensus and signed the seasonal labor cooperation agreement.
