Mu Cang Chai has many potentials for developing small and  hydro-electricity plants with large streams coming from Hoang Lien range such as: Nam Kim, Nang Khu….

Besides, Mu Cang Chair has terraced field - the National Beauty of Nature, with unique characteristics of the Hmong people, with the “flying on the golden season” terrain, attracting thousands people each year.  

As a result, Mu Cang Chai attracted enterprises to invest to build hydroelectricity plants which create jobs for local people and contribute for the district’s budget.

Besides, the district has about 2 thousand ha Son Tra trees which can be processed into a variety of food and pharmaceutical products. This potential and advantage are favorable conditions for the district to attract enterprises to invest on tourism and processing agricultural and forest products

For the past years, Mu Cang Chai has focused on improving investment enviroment, improving the quality of administration, reforming administrative procedures, shortening the process, reducing the number and simplifying the process, reducing the time and cost of implementing administrative procedures to create a favorable business environment for enterprises and investors.

Besides, in order to attract investment, raise the value of plants, especially Son Tra trees, the district has deployed the planning of raw material areas, building a brand of Son Tra fruits as well as deployed solutions to help local people expand the area of ​​the trees. On that basis, at the end of 2016, the project of Yen Bai Mountain Economic Complex  invested by MCC Investment Joint Stock Company with the capital of 1,250 billion dong started in Nam Khat commune.

The project includes components: developing medicinal plants, developing ecotourism in Nam Khat, Pung Luong; producing biochar with capacity of 500 tons / year; producing bio-organic fertilizer with capacity of 1,000 tons/year; producing food for animals with capacity of 3-4 tons/ hour; fruit processing factory with capacity 500 tons/year.

The project is known to create 200 jobs for local people with income of 5-6 million per people per month. Besides, in tourism, the project is known that after the operation, the company can create jobs for more than 200 local laborers with the income of 5-6 million per person per month. The Terrace Field Viewing Resort built by Thinh Dat Green Development Joint Stock Company with total investment of 200 million VND and an area of ​​6.3 ha and 36 villas is expected to serve over 6,000 visitors per year.

Thinh Dat Green Development Joint Stock Company also has planted 500 ha of rapeseed to serve tourists as well as raise income for the local people.
