These are the targets in the Decision on adjusting the industrial development planning of Yen Bai province up to 2020 with a vision to 2030 approved by the provincial People's Committee.
The main contents of the planning include: By 2020, the industrial production value reaches more than VND13,000 billion; The average growth rate in the period of 2016 - 2020 is 11.6% per year and over; The mining industry structure accounts for 9%, manufacturing and processing industry accounts for 72%; Electricity, water production and distribution account for 17%; Waste water and waste management and treatment account for 2%. By 2025, the value of industrial production reaches about VND 25,000 billion; The average growth rate of 2020-2025 is higher than that of the previous period; Internal structure shifts towards reducing the proportion of mining industry, increasing the proportion of processing industry. By 2030, the value of industrial production is about VND 35,000 billion or more.
By 2030, three industrial zones, including the Southern Industrial Park, Minh Quan Industrial Park and Au Lau Industrial Park will be maintained. Planning up to 2020, developing 12 industrial clusters, including 9 planned industrial clusters including Au Lau Industrial cluster; Son Thinh cluster; Hung Khanh cluster; Bao Dap cluster; the west of Mau A bridge cluster; Dong An cluster; Thinh Hung cluster; Yen The cluster; Dam Hong cluster, carrying out the Dam Hong cluster out of the city center. Two more industrial clusters are planned, namely Minh Quan Industrial cluster located near IC12 intersection, an industrial cluster in Bao Hung commune; Converting the north of Van Yen industrial zone into an industrial cluster.
In the period up to 2030, depending on the situation of attracting investment to fill industrial clusters, expanding the area of Minh Quan and Au Lau Industrial Zones, each zone will reach 200 hectares; expanding industrial clusters to a maximum of 75 hectares for each.
To develop the agricultural and forest product processing industry, the province will focus on tea processing, cassava processing, paper production, wood processing, processing of products from cinnamon, Son Tra fruits, Bat Do bamboo shoots, food processing from cattle meat and some other products.
On the development of mining and mineral processing industry, , the province will focus on exploiting and processing Feldspar powder; Exploitation and processing of graphite; Exploiting and processing white limestone; Exploiting, sorting and processing iron ore; Exploitating and processing of lead and zinc ores; Explorating, mining copper; Exploitating and processing of rare land; Exploitating, processing quartz .
On the development of the building materials industry; Electricity and water production and distribution; To develop the manufacture, assemble and repair of mechanical and electronic products; Supporting industry; To develop the hi-tech processing industry; To develop textile, leather and footwear, chemicals, fertilizer and animal food industries; Development of handicraft products, small industries and handicraft villages.
