Yen Binh leader visits the pomelo garden of the Cao Van Manh in Dong Nep village

The highlight of the Dai Minh Pomelo Festival and Boat Race on Thac Ba Lake in 2017 is the fair displaying pomelos and Dai Minh grapefruit trees. All 15 villages in Dai Minh Commune will choose the best pomelos on the hundreds of years old grapefruit trees labeled for display and being introduced to visitors. Nearly 100 charming girls in the unique costumes of ethnic minority people in the lake area will compete to peel pomelos and process the typical products of the lake from Dai Minh pomelos. Cuisine contest "Taste of the lake" with the attendance of 26 communes and towns in the district also promises to bring visitors many interesting things.

This is the first time the festivals are held in response to the National Tourism Year 2017 Lao Cai - North west of Yen Binh district. To organize the festival successfully, attractively, create good impressions in the hearts of tourists in and outside the country, the district has directed to intensify the propaganda about the Festival as well as introduce potentials, the unique culture features of the land and people of Yen Binh in order to honor the value of pomelos, pomelos growers ... At the same time, ask all agencies, departments, unions, communes , especially the two localities of Dai Minh and Thac Ba township - where the festivals happening concentrate all resources to upgrade infrastructure and prepare well the conditions for organizing the festival.

Racing boats on Thac Ba lake

Along with the the preparation for Dai Minh polemo festival, the preparation for boat race on Thac Ba lake is also being implemented seriously. The opening ceremony of the boat race will be held at the foot of the Thac Ba Mother and boat race venue takes place at the harbor of quarter 7 in Thac Ba Town with the participation of nearly 100 athletes from the communes, townships in the district, competing in 3 contents: men's doubles, mixed doubles, women's doubles.

The Dai Minh Pomelo Festival and Boat Race on Thac Ba Lake will officially open at 7:30 p.m on November 10, 2017 at the Stadium of Dai Minh Commune.

Coming to the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to visit grapefruit trees with age of more than 100 years, the grapefruit garden with the wrong branches, enjoy the aroma sweet and cool of the grapefruit and specialty dishes with "Taste of Thac lake" made from the available materials by the indigenous people.
