From the beginning of 2017, Yen Bai province has promulgated the program and plan to implement the Government Resolution on improving the business environment, enhancing the competitiveness and attracting investment into the province, focusing on the key branches associated with the restructuring of the province's key economic branches such as agriculture, industry and commerce - services ... to improve the quality and competitiveness of economic sectors.

The province has reviewed, proposed amendments and supplements to the legal documents of the province and central level, promulgated mechanisms and policies to remove obstacles and difficulties, create a favorable and equal business environment for organizations and enterprises; To speed up the reform of administrative procedures, shorten the handling process, reduce the time for administrative procedures, reduce administrative costs, ensure transparency and assign specific tasks to administrative state agencies; to intensify administrative disciplines; to improve the quality of the cadres and civil servants; To intensify the inspection, examination and strict handling of acts of harassment, causing difficulties for people and enterprises in settling administrative procedures; At the same time, the provine is determined to fulfill the commitment between Yen Bai province and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to create a favorable business environment for enterprises. At the beginning of the year, the provincial People’s Committee held the meeting with the Provincial Business Association, the Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Women's Business Club, regularly met to remove difficulties and accompany enterprises through the program Businessmen coffee held monthly.

At the meeting on assessment of provincial competitiveness index and administrative reform in July 2017, Mr. Do Duc Duy - Chairman of the provincial People's Committee stressed: "The provincial vision is to define the tasks of administrative reform and provinial competitiveness improvement as important, regular and continuous political tasks of all branches and levels of the whole system, in which it emphasizes the role and responsibility of the heads of agencies, units and people who are directly in contact with people and businesses. This is one of the important criteria for assessing the level of refund to fulfill the tasks of the heads of the agencies, assess and classify officials, public servants and employees directly engaged in the performance of tasks related to the improvement of administration and enhancement of the provincial competitiveness".

Bright picture

thanks to the determination of the leaders, together with the efforts of departments, localities, with many solutions in time to solve difficulties and obstacles for enterprises in production and business activities to create favorable conditions for enterprises to have access to the Government's support policies, the investment environment and competitiveness of the province have seen positive changes.

In the past year, with the increase of 4 levels of PCI compared to 2015 and 8 levels in comparison with 2014, Yen Bai moved its position to a good group, ranked 6/14 compared with provinces in the Northern mountainous area, the situation of enterprise development in the province has many bright spots. In 2017, the province has granted enterprise registration certificates to 210 newly established enterprises with a total registered capital of 3,450 billion VND, an increase of 12 enterprises compared to 2016, bringing the total number of enterprises in the whole province to 1,777.

Investment promotion activities have been implemented and achieved positive results. In 2017, the province decided to invest in 44 projects with a total registered capital of VND15,400 billion, an increase of 12 projects compared to 2016. In the year, Yen Bai hosted the first promotion conference in Seoul capital with the theme “Yen Bai: Development Potentials and Investment Opportunities”, the Seminar on introducing and promoting tourism products of Yen Bai province … to promote the potentials, strengthens of the local to attract domestic and foreign investors to study and invest in Yen Bai.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, leader of Yen Bai province, kicked off the project of manufacturing the Edge Glass electronic components factory in Bao Hung commune, Tran Yen district.

The result of the province's efforts in improve business investment environment, attracting investment in the recent past is just before the spring of 2018, a large-scale project – Electronic components factory with the total investment capital of nearly 5 trillion VND dong of Edge Glass Joint Stock Company (South Korea) starting workd in Bao Hung commune, Tran Yen district. It is expected that when the project is put into operation, it will create jobs for nearly 3,000 laborers and contribute nearly VND1 trillion to local budgets.

At the commencement ceremony, Yen Bai province honored to receive the attention and direction of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, which is encouraging, timely and meaningful support to the province on the way of striving to become a relatively developed province in the mountains and Northern Midlands.
