The training course is organized from 28 May to 1 June 2018 in Yen Bai city with the participation of twenty trainees who are officials of specialized agencies and public enterprises in localities which are partners of the project "Actions in environment sector" including Hanoi, Hue cities, Hai Duong and Yen Bai provinces. These trainees take the direct responsibilities of domestic solid waste monitoring, management and collection, and environment managing officials, engineers, technical officials who manage and implement the service of domestic solid waste collecting at urban environment companies.

During the course, trainees and trainers will focus on discussing 4 main topics involving to improving the effectiveness of collecting domestic solid waste in urban areas: mechanizing domestic solid waste collecting, the role of collecting work in optimizing handling, collecting and recycling urban domestic solid waste;  compatibility and synchronism in solid waste management; urban space planning in accordance with solid waste management; the role of community in improving the effectiveness of collecting domestic solid waste in urban areas.

The training course aims to improve capacity of specialized agencies and public environment units in collecting urban domestic solid waste; assuring the effectiveness of this work and continuously improving and to be compatible with the development of urban areas in Vietnam in the future. This course is also the opportunity for exchange, experience sharing on implementing domestic solid waste collecting in urban areas of France, from that, it is possible to create new ideas which are suitable to Vietnam’s cases.
