Bach Lam Bridge construction project was commenced on May 18, 2016. This is one of the 10 key projects in Yen Bai province from 2016 to 2020, linking the transportation system of Yen Bai city (Highway 37) with Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway. Bach Lam Bridge is strategically important, as an opportunity to open trade, connect two banks of the Red River, expand the space for construction and urban development of Yen Bai city, as a highlight to make Yen Bai city become the administrative, political, economic and social center of the province and soon become a second class city by 2020.

Bach Lam Bridge has the head from Cao Lanh intersection, at the beginning of Nguyen Thai Hoc Avenue in Yen Ninh Ward, Yen Bai City (Km278 + 500 National Highway 37); the last point (Km1 + 898.51m) intersects National Highway 32C at Km92 + 987.24 m in the area of Gioi Phien ​​People's Committee , Yen Bai city. The bridge section is designed permanent and modern according to branch standard 22 TCN 272 – 2005

After more than 2 years of implementation, Bach Lam Bridge has been completed, tested and put into use. With a large and modern investment, it is a beautiful symbol of construction architecture and initially changing the appearance of Yen Bai city. This will be the driving force to promote the competitiveness of the province in the period of integration and development, at the same time to open conditions and advantages to attract investment in the construction of new urban areas, center of services - commerce, health care, education, ecotourism, resort, administration of Yen Bai city and industrial zones in communes at the right bank of the Red River through the crossroads linking national highway 37, Au Co Highway, National Road 32C and Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, meeting the demands of officials and people in the province.

The event of opening Bach Lam bridge is a big festival of Party, government, people of all ethnic groups in the province in general and of Yen Bai city in particular. This is an important milestone contributing to promoting renovation, industrialization and modernization of the country on the road of development in 2018 and the following years, soon to make Yen Bai become a fairly developed province in the midland and mountainous areas and to become the economic center of the Northwest.
