Processing white marble in Luc Yen

Luc Yen district identifies the industry as a breakthrough for rapid and sustainable economic development, in which the mining industry is the spearhead. Over the past years, the Party and local authorities have paid attention to the direction and implementation of many mechanisms and policies to attract domestic and foreign investors and create favorable conditions for enterprises to operate and expand production; making a breakthrough for the socio-economic development of Luc Yen district.

In 2012, the value of  industry - small scale industry production of Luc Yen district reached only VND 421.6 billion. By 2017, industrial production value (at constant prices in 2010) increased to over VND1,300 billion. The 20th Congress of Luc Yen District Party, 2015-2020 term continues to identify the development of industry - small scale industry is the breakthrough; set the target of resolution: Industrial production value in the area (at constant prices in 2010) to 2020 reaches VND 1,800 billion.

The industry – small scale industry in the district really become a breakthrough, over the years the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee Luc Yen have always been close, consistent, timely for direction. It is expressed specifically by the resolutions, specialized schemes and industrial promotion programs for the development of industries, small scale industries and handicrafts in sync with the development of transport, commerce and infrastructure; Creating favorable environment to attract investors not only in the country but also abroad in the field of industry, small scale industry, especially exploitation and processing of white marble.

Currently, in Luc Yen district, there are 14 companies and enterprises licensed to explore minerals, 34 companies and enterprises licensed to exploit. Many companies have gone through the open deck, explored and exploited a stable operation with high quality products, exported to many countries in the world. Only in the first 7 months of 2018, companies and enterprises have exploited 6,350 m3 of block stone, 31,500 m3 of raw material stone, 20,900 m3 of stone, and 60,000 m3 of raw material. The value of the mining industry in the district from the beginning of the year to now is over VND 744.7 billion… which contributed VND 59.4 billion to the local budget, accounting for 63.8% of the total budget. At the same time, enterprises operating in the field of mineral exploitation and processing have created jobs for thousands of local laborers with stable incomes, averaging VND 5 to 6 million per month.

We can see that the industry – small scale industry of Luc Yen district has made a great breakthrough in recent years, which gradually changes the economic structure of the district, so that the industry – small scale industry become the key economic sectors of the district in which exploiting and processing minerals is always a spearhead industry, creating a breakthrough in the socio-economic development of Luc Yen district.
