Attending the launching ceremony on the side of Yen Bai province, there were Mr. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Duong Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly delegation; Mr. Do Duc Duy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members in the Provincial Standing Committee; leaders of People's Councils, People's Committee and National Assembly delegations; leaders of departments, agencies, unions, districts, towns and cities with over 1,200 cadres, civil servants, employees, workers and people of ethnic groups in the province.

According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2018, the country planted over 231,000 hectares of concentrated forests, exceeding 18.7% of the plan, over 63 million scattered trees, exceeding 27.7% of the plan; forest coverage rate reached 41.65%. In 2019, localities throughout the country will continue to strive to achieve the goal of improving productivity, quality and promoting the value of each type of forest, the value of forestry production increases by an average of 6%/year; forestry export turnover reaches 10.5 billion USD and raise the forest coverage rate to 41.85%.

Addressing at the ceremony Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong emphasized: Responding to Uncle Ho's call, when spring comes,  the people organize the "Tet tree-planting Tet", which becomes a good habit of our people. For many years, tree plantation has played an important role in preventing natural disasters, improving quality of the environment, and bettering local livelihoods amidst global warming, climate change and sea level rise, which are billed as one of the formidable challenges to the human beings in the 21st century.

He called upon the entire Party, army and people to engage in growing trees and forests as well as taking actions against deforestation as part of efforts to protect the environment.

On behalf of the leaders and people of Yen Bai province, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council gave a speech to respond to the "Tet tree planting festival to be grateful to Uncle Ho" in 2019. She affirmed, in recent years, the movement of forest protection and development movement in Yen Bai province has been continuously promoted, contributing to environmental protection, social - economic development and bettering local livelihoods  

On average, each year the province grows more than 15,000 hectares of forest types, the area of ​​forested land reaches nearly 470 thousand hectares, the forest coverage of the province in 2018 reached 63%, which made the province to be the fourth highest forest coverage in country; the management, protection, restoration and regeneration of natural forests and protective forests are getting better and better, practically protecting the ecological environment and biodiversity of forests; combined with planning and development of production forests, restructuring of plants, focusing on developing large timber forests, key crops of the locality, forming concentrated forest production areas in association with processing products from wood and crops, bringing high economic value, bringing the proportion of forestry jobs to be constantly improved, forestry production has become an important driving force in poverty reduction and new rural construction and sustainable economic development of the province.

Responding to Uncle Ho's call and launching of Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong, on February 10, simultaneously 9/9 districts, towns and cities organized to plant trees. In this spring, Yen Bai province will plant 13,000 hectares of new forests, striving to plant 16,000 hectares of new forests in 2019, increasing over 1,000 hectares compared to 2018;

The Party Committee, authorities, people of all ethnic groups in Yen Bai province will actively respond to the "Tet tree planting festival to be grateful to Uncle Ho"with the highest sense of responsibility and determination, contributing to improving quality and efficiency and forest coverage, practically promoting forest economy development, improving people's lives, ensuring ecological environment for Yen Bai and the whole country to develop quickly, comprehensively and sustainably.

On this occasion, General Secretary - State President Nguyen Phu Trong donated 20 gifts to poor households and ethnic minorities in Tran Yen district.
