The Mission made survey in Sung Do tea tree area.

Attending the meeting were leaders of Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Industry and Trade.

After survey in the ancient tea area which has just been discovered in ​ Sung Do commune, Mrs. Elise Michel - Representative of Jean Chardin Tea Company said that the new tea area discovered  can be considered as a "precious gem" which also contains many potentials that need to be explored and evaluated by experienced experts.

The Mission of the Jean Chardin Tea Company proposed Yen Bai province to provide more information about Sung Do tea are as well as the evalation document about the potentials of the tea area. Mrs. Elise Michel also suggested Yen Bai province to repair the way to the Sung Do tea are to make convernient for researching and evaluating the potentials and quality of the tea area.

Mr. Tran Xuan Hoang - The Institute of Agricultural and Forestry Science in the Northern mountainous region, said that the tea area in Sung Do was ancient; climate and land in this area are very suitable  for planting tea tree. Therefore, it is necessary to survey and evaluate the scale and quality of tea trees here to conserve and develop specialty tea products in Sung Do commune. At the same time, need to guide people here to produce, cultivate and process tea in order to improve tea production capacity and tea quality, step by step eradicate hunger and reduce poverty and preserve tea trees in the locality.

At the working session, Mr. Do Duc Duy - Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee thanked for the companion of Jean Chardin Tea Company and the Northern Mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science and Technology Institute in implementing the first steps in tea research and survey process at Sung Do.

The Chairman of the Yen Bai PPC stressed that, the survey process showed that Sung Do tea area is an ancient tea area with high economic value; Tea plants develop naturally so Yen Bai province needs to have solutions to preserve and promote the value of tea areas; build a project to promote the value of Sung Do tea area and have appropriate solutions to improve the productivity and quality of tea areas, attaching importance to guide people here to use technical measure to raise value of tea products; ; implementing solutions improve the commercial value of Sung Do tea products, including cooperation with domestic and foreign enterprises, including Jean Chardin Tea Company (France); supposing investment solutions in buiding transportation and electricity infrastructure in contributing to improving the value of tea areas.

Mr. Do Duc Duy proposed Jean Chardin Tea Company to have an independent report on the value of tea area and make suggestions to Yen Bai province in preserving and promoting the value of tea area; propose experts to study about Sung Do tea trees with experts of Yen Bai; propose cooperation direction with Yen Bai province in research and survey of Sung Do tea area ...
