Signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding on strengthening and expanding cooperation relations between People's Committee of Yen Bai Province and LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd.

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Do Duc Duy - Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee, and Mr. Trieu Tien Thinh - Vice Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Council, and memebers in the Provincial Standing Committee. For LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. (LGE), there were Mr. Ko Myung Eon - General Director of the Company and members of the delegation.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Do Duc Duy - Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee briefed the delegation of LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. about the potentials and strengths of Yen Bai province. He stressed the goal of Yen Bai province in the coming years is to become a fairly developed province in the northern midland and mountainous areas. To achieve that goal, Yen Bai prioritizes 3 breakthroughs in socio-economic development: Administrative reform, improving business investment environment, especially non-state investment, FDI; investment in socio-economic infrastructure development, especially transport infrastructure, urban and industrial park infrastructure; training and developing human resources, especially high quality human resources.

He also said that Yen Bai is a province with abundant human resources and labor resources, so the province is focusing on training human resources, vocational training with the goal of labor restructuring from agriculture to public industry and services. Currently, Yen Bai is trying to find businesses using a lot of labors to arrange jobs for workers after training. With the school system and vocational training institutions, Yen Bai province fully meets the recruitment needs of businesses. However, he also affirmed that the training of high quality human resources is facing many difficulties. Human resources management in state management agencies, as well as enterprises, is still limited. Yen Bai province has developed a project for training of resource officers for the following years. In addition to training at schools in the national training system and studying abroad, Yen Bai province is also looking forward to sending a team of experienced learners at large corporations and businesses to accumulate for future development.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In the cooperation process between Yen Bai province and LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. since 2016, especially through training courses at LGE, many of the officials trained here have become the heads of agencies and units. At the same time, through research and understanding, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee was impressed with the business philosophy of the enterprise that it is necessary to have a good staff and want the business to be at the forefront when having the great head. Therefore, the view of Yen Bai province is to develop to have high quality human resources, good managers and skilled workers.

Mr. Ko Myung Eon - General Director of LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. said, human resource training is one of the key tasks of LG Group. He said that this signing ceremony had a very important meaning in contributing to the training of human resources in Yen Bai province. He also wished on that basis, the cooperative relationship between LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong and Yen Bai province is growing in long-term and sustainable.

Then, People's Committee of Yen Bai Province and LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding with the following contents: Yen Bai Province will facilitate Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. to investment and business in the province on the basis of best implementing investment incentive policies of the Government of Vietnam, policies to attract investment of the province; facilitate LG's member companies and satellite and auxiliary manufacturers to survey and invest in Yen Bai province; support LGE Company to promote LG Group's products on mass media in Yen Bai; encourage provincial enterprises to act as distribution agents of LG Group's products in the province; Yen Bai selectes and send 150 qualified and capable staff to LGE for training, retraining and improvement.

According to the memorandum, LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. will support the training of high quality human resources for Yen Bai province, including cadres and civil servants working in the provincial government system, the program of fostering plans for 150 provincial officials begin in September 2019; coordinate with Yen Bai to train a team of high-tech workers and accept to work at LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd; introduce LG member companies and satellite manufacturers, auxiliary manufacturers to survey and seek investment opportunities in Yen Bai province; prioritize investment in Yen Bai province when there is a need to expand investment in Vietnam.
