In 2019, after many years of interruption, Mu Cang Chai district will re-organize Independence Day for people, the opening ceremony started at 20 on August 31st at the district stadium. At the opening for Independence Day this year, there will be a street performance called "Colors of the Mu Cang Chai’s ethnic groups".
There are many activities in Independence Day: people here attend colorful upland markets at the district stadium and on the Khau Pha pass; folk games: throwing Con, playing Pao, blindfolding to beat the ball, blindfolding to catch pig, blindfolding to catch duck, jumping Sap; paragliding festival "Flying on the golden season" held from August 31 to September 1 at two locations: Mam Xoi Hill and Khau Pha Pass; art photo exhibition "Sparkling colors of culture – tourism” and beautiful pictures “Mu Cang Chai terraced fields - National landscape" from August 31 to Septem 9.
