Mr. Do Duc Duy – Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee worked with representer of the Tea Company Jean Chardin (France) in order to discussed about the plan for investing on tea production in Sung Do commune in Van Chan district and the support of Yen Bai province for the plan.
Attending the working session was leader of Agriculture - Rural Development Department, Plan and Investment Department, Industry and Trade Department, Foreign Affair Department and Science – Technology Department.
On behalf of the Company, Mrs. Elise Michel – Director of Jean Chardin Tea Compant thanked Yen Bai’s departments and branches for warmly welcoming and companying with the Company when surveying in Sung Do Tea Area (in Van Chan).
Before the working session, Jean Chardin Tea Company had conducted the second survey in 5 villages of Sung Do commune which are Giang Pang, Lang Manh, Nga Hai, Nga Ba and Na Noi. Through the survey, it shows that Lang Manh tea area has been well preserved, the tea trees here are older than in other areas. The tea area in Lang Manh village is consistent with the criteria set by the Company; If tea products of Lang Piece village are properly processed, they will suit the taste of the French. Through the survey, the delegation of the Tea Company chose the tea in Lang Manh and wanted Yen Bai province to support the Company to produce tea in this area.
At the working session, Mr. Do Duc Duy – Chairman of Yen Bai province provided the leader of the Company information about the tea in Sung Do such as: recently tea in Sung Do is recognized as heritage trees; Yen Bai province has actively propagated and disseminated to people about the values of tea trees so that people can take measures to cultivate, preserve and enhance the value of tea areas. Yen Bai province has also organized consultations with scientists to have solutions to preserve and enhance the value of the tea area.
Mr. Duy affirmed that Shan tea products in Yen Bai province have high value and large consumption market. Yen Bai province aims to expand the area of Shan tea and increase the added value of Shan Tuyet tea products. Therefore, in the coming time, Yen Bai province will continue to propagate to the people about the value of tea trees and the value of tea products; support technical assistance including seeding, harvesting; support product promotion; support protecting product brand; support social infrastructure with the highest goal is to increase the added value of products and improve the lives of people planting and processing tea in Lang Manh in particular and tea areas in Sung Do commune in general.
The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee suggested that Jean Chardin Tea Company should establish the relationship between the company and people in the tea area in the process of caring, collecting, processing and consuming products in order to create a people's trust in the Company; develop a cooperation project between the Company and Yen Bai province via Val de Marne province (France) with the participation of the government and people of Yen Bai province, the government of Val de Marne province, Jean Chardin Company, scientists and businesses selling products with specific commitments to protect and promote the value of the tea area.
The Chairman also suggest the Company needing to provide technical solutions in processing to achieve specific standards for products that meet the tastes of consumers in France. After evaluating the effectiveness of this project, Yen Bai province and Tea Company will continue to discuss to establish an official project with the principle: ensuring equal interests between the parties.
