Till date, eight Indian investors with total registered capital of more than US$ 25 million have invested in Yen Bai. Major Indian investment projects in Yen Bai Province include the projects of M/s R.K. Marble Vietnam Co., Ltd., M/s Alliance Mineral Vietnam Limited and M/s Thanh Son Mining Co., Ltd. India has also partnered with Yen Bai Province to implement various development partnerships in healthcare sector and in local infrastructure development including bridge, infield canals and schools
During the visit, both sides signed an MOU for Indian grant assistance under the Quick Impact Project (QIP) programme to construct an irrigation canal in Van Chan District of the province, which will provide irrigation for 20 hectares of farmland and directly benefit more than 1500 families. Though small in size, the Quick Impact Projects, which are implemented in a short period of time, bring tangible and speedy benefits to the local community. Speaking at the signing ceremony of the MOU, Ambassador Pranay Verma noted that these grassroots projects, in their own small way, contributed to Vietnam’s efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
