For the past years, Yen Bai province has had many polices to support enterprises, cooperatives and people to develop tourism; as well as, focus on exploiting potentials and advantages, encouraging development of all economic sectors, promoting investment attraction. With the effort of the political system, enterprises and people, Yen Bai tourism has prospered.

However, since 2020, when covid-19 epidemic appeared, Yen Bai has suffered many negative impacts, profoundly affecting socio-economic fields, production and business activities and people's lives. In 2021, the province's tourism target did not meet the set target. The number of tourists reached just over 88% of the plan, of which international visitors decreased compared to 2020. This is the clearest proof of the difficulties and challenges the tourism industry has to endure before the pandemic storm.

Yen Bai province has focused on positive solutions to recover, revive and prepare for the resumption of tourism reopening activities such as: vaccinations for all subjects; guiding and implementing safety self-assessment service establishments serving tourists; upgrading material foundations, technical equipment; renewing and perfecting tourism products; inspect and evaluate the quality of services; ready to safely open its doors to welcome and serve domestic and international tourists under the direction of the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. For the first months of year 2022, it can be seen that Yen Bai tourism has had remarkable prosperity and recovery. By the end of the first 3 months of 2022, the tourism target has reached 162% compared to the same period in 2021.

In conference, delegates discussed, exchanged, evaluate comprehensively assess the potential, current status and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Yen Bai tourism industry; experience and suggestions from tourism enterprises in and out the province. The delagates also suggest solutions, ways and routes suitable to local conditions to restore and develop tourism in Yen Bai province in the new situation.
