YBP – On December 3rd 2016, Van Chan district People’s Committee held a ceremony to announce and receive the certificate of registration of the collective trademark “Van Chan Oranges”.
The leader of National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam awarded the certificate of Collective trademark “Van Chan Oranges” to Van Chan district
Curently, Van Chan district has more than 1,300 hectares oranges, mandarin oranges planted mainly in some outside communes and town, such as: Nghia Tam, Minh An, Thương Bang La and Tran Phu farm town. More than 800 hectares are harvested with average yield of 12-15 tons/hectare/year, the output reaches 8,000 tons, the annual sales of over 200 billion VND. With the high value and relatively stable consumption, oranges are considered as one of the main crops bringing good income to many families inVan chan district.
For sustainable development and improving the credibility of oranges in the market, Van Chan district has built the project to establish the rights to the collective trademark “Van Chan Oranges”.
At the ceremony, the leader of National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam adopted the Decision and awarded the certificate of Collective trademark “Van Chan Oranges” to Van Chan district according to Decision No. 75286 dated Novemner 11th 2016. Along with building management document system to assign the use and control the quality of the product “Van Chan Oranges” from planting, tending, harvesting, processing and preserving the products…
Having been awarded the certificate will help Van Chan oranges become a prestigious brand on the domestic and foreign market, which creates favorable conditions for organizations and individuals to produce and sale Van Chan oranges; at the same time, improves the ecomomic efficency in agriculture and forestry development in Yen Bai province. The product of “Van Chan oranges” will also be ensuring stability in quality, and accuracy of the origin and protected by law.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Ngoc Lam – Deputy director of National Office of Intellectual Property, Ministry of Science and Technology stressed: The trademark “Van Chan Oranges” will be the basis, effective legal tool for the farmers planting oranges in Van Chan to use, exploit and protect their product value. In addition to popularize, introduce the products, people in Van Chan need to focus on improving the product quality, providing clean products to the market in order to bring the confidence to the consumers.
On behalf of Van Chan leaders, Mr. Tran Van Moc - Secretary of Van Chan district Party Committee stressed the role and significane of receiving the collective trademark “Van Chan oranges”. This is a great honor and an important initiation for Van Chan oranges to confirm the position, image, value on the domestic market as well as the regional market and in the world. This meets the expectations of farmers planting oranges in Van Chan.
Mr. Tran Van Moc affirmed: “Van Chan party, government and people will promote the recognized values to build the growing orange area with the determination to give the market clean oranges to meet the increasing requirement of the consumers”.
