YBP - On the morning of January 27, at Din Pass area, Thanh Tu village, Dai Lich commune, Van Chan district, Van Chan district held a ceremony to respond to "Tet planting trees in gratitude to Uncle Ho" in 2023.
In 2022, localities in the province made efforts to plant 15,861 ha of forests, reaching 102.3% of the plan for allocation and plant 5.77 million scattered trees; forest coverage rate remained stable at 63%, ranking sixth nationally in terms of forest coverage;
Particularly for Van Chan district, in recent years, the district has well organized tree planting and afforestation movements with the participation of the whole political system, the active participation of all levels, sectors and all classes of people; the annual planted forest area is over 3,100 ha, exceeding the assigned plan; the district's forest coverage reaches 58.6%, ranking 4th out of 9 districts, town and city in the province in terms of forest coverage.
The movement of planting trees and afforestation has become a movement with strong pervasive power, making an important contribution to proactively preventing and combating natural disasters, regulating climate, improving the ecological environment, and beautifying the natural landscape, contributing to the socio-economic development of the district, improving the material and spiritual life of the people. At the same time, it creates a green - clean - beautiful living environment, contributing to the implementation of the policy of not trading the environment for economic development in the spirit of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025 proposed.
In 2023, Yen Bai province strives to plant 15,500 hectares of forest, in which the spring crop alone strives to plant over 10,000 hectares, ensuring over 80% of the area, bringing the stable forest coverage rate to 63%.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Duy Hien - Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Chan district recommended that all levels of Party committees, authorities, branches, localities and people of the whole district continue to actively participate in tree planting and afforestation; raise awareness and take effective measures to protect forests and prevent forest loss, prevent illegal cutting, burning and exploitation of forests; increase investment and application of science and technology in order to protect and develop the forest economy sustainably.
Immediately after the response ceremony, provincial leaders, leaders of provincial departments, agencies, mass organizations and officials, civil servants, public employees and people of Van Chan district participated in planting 3.5ha of acacia seedlings at Din Pass area, Thanh Tu village, Dai Lich commune, Van Chan district.
