YBP - On the evening of February 1, in Ben Den village, Dong Cuong commune, Yen Bai province solemnly held a ceremony to announce the decision to register "Dong Cuong Temple Festival" on the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List and to open the ceremony of Dong Cuong Temple Festival in 2023.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that: Over the years, being aware of the importance of cultural heritage, Yen Bai province has always paid attention to leadership and direction in the preservation and protection, promotion of the value of cultural heritage in the cause of socio-economic development and consider this as an important task, one of the driving forces creating the identity and endogenous strength in the development process of the province.
Dong Cuong Temple has long been famous as one of the sacred temples; a famous spiritual tourist destination of the Northwest region. The temple is the main place to worship Mother Thuong Ngan - the second Mother in the custom of worshiping Mother Tam Phu of the Vietnamese people; worship the Guardian God and the national heroes who sacrificed themselves in the uprisings against foreign invaders.
Traditional festival of Dong Cuong Temple plays a particularly important role in the cultural and spiritual life of the community; is an innovative product that shows community cohesion. Cultural identity in the Dong Cuong Temple Festival has been maintained, practiced, handed down from generation to generation, with strong pervasiveness in the cultural and spiritual life of Vietnamese people.
The announcement ceremony of the decision to register "Dong Cuong Temple Festival, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province" into the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage is an opportunity to honor the heritage with its sustainable value and strong vitality paralysis; recognize, appreciate and praise the efforts of the Party Committee, the administration of Van Yen district, Dong Cuong commune, relevant departments and branches of the province and the ethnic communities of Van Yen district in preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics of Dong Cuong Temple and Dong Cuong Temple Traditional Festival; at the same time, promote the responsibility of preserving and promoting heritage for socio-economic development in the coming years.
At the ceremony, the leader of the Cultural Heritage Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced the decision to register "Dong Cuong Temple Festival, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province" on the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
