YBP - On February 26, 2023, at the Provincial Convention Center, the People's Committee of Yen Bai province held a meeting with businesses and investors.
Yen Bai Leaders presented the decision approving the investment policy to investors.
In 2022, the whole province had 319 newly established enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 3,596 billion, bringing the total number of enterprises in the province to 2,960 enterprises (increasing 302 enterprises compared to 2021). In 2022, businesses paid into the state budget VND 1,584 billion, accounting for 62.8% of the total balanced revenue in the province (increasing by VND 203 billion compared to 2021); created jobs for over 45,700 employees, with an average income of VND 7-8 million/person/month.
In 2022, there were 37 investment projects granted Investment Policy Approval Decision, with a total registered investment capital of 10,785.4 billion VND. Up to now, the province has issued investment policy decisions for 600 projects with VND 93,685.6 billion and USD 402.1 million.
At the conference, delegates, investors and businesses discussed and shared the achieved results; good experiences to overcome difficulties, effective production and business solutions, trade promotion for international integration. They also proposed and gave plans to develop appropriate mechanisms and policies; remove difficulties, create conditions for businesses and investors to develop more favorable in the coming time.
At the conference, the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Decision approving the investment policy for 5 projects in various fields. Businesses supported social security work for the province with a total amount of more than VND 800 million.
Hailing the business community, entrepreneurs and investors’ contributions to the province's development over the past years, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Huy Tuan wished that they would keep renovating themselves, overcome challenges and improve business efficiency.
He called for attention to actively seeking new markets, renewing technology, strengthening production connectivity, raising awareness and mindsets based on digital technology. Businesses need to build new brands and seek promising markets, improve the material and spiritual lives of workers and accompany the province in social welfare work.
He stressed that during 2023 and subsequent years, Yen Bai will prioritise investment in hi-tech, eco-friendly and energy-friendly projects while attracting strategic and capable investors to launch large-scale projects that have widespread impacts.
He asked departments, agencies and localities to effectively adopt measures to improve the provincial investment environment, promptly perform support policies and tackle difficulties faced by firms, and assist them in seeking markets and partners, workforce training and branding.
