Many of Yen Bai province’s specialties are now available at major supermarkets in Hanoi and other localities nationwide. Over the past few years, the province has promoted its products to sustain local farm production.
Delegates visit Yen Bai agricultural products stall in Big C supermarket
The Hai Ha Seafood Company in Yen Binh district recently signed a contract with the Central Retail group of Thailand under which local specialties like fish sausage, fish paste pie, fried fish pie, and fish shredding are sold in Big C supermarkets.
The company’s manager Vu Thi Thu Huong said: "Our company has a production cycle from farm to factory. During the production, cooling, transporting and preserving processes, we follow strict food safety regulations to preserve the food for 2 to 3 months. Signing a contract with Big C is our new step forward."
Products of the Hai Ha Seafood Company are among the many Yen Bai agricultural products available in Big C supermarkets. There are also Dai Minh pomelos, Tu Le glutinous rice, Gioi Phien rice noodle, smoked pork, Van Yen cinnamon, Luc Yen peanuts, and fish products from Thac Ba lake.
With this new contract, Big C supermarket has a stable source of supply of quality products and cooperatives and farmers in Yen Bai have stable sales.
Nguyen Quyet, Deputy Director of the Hoang Kim Seafood Cooperative, said: "Selling our products to Big C ensures seafood production for our cooperative. In the coming time, we will restructure production and increase productivity."
Doan Le Khoa, Director of the Yen Bai Center for Industrial Extension and Trade Promotion, said local products have found their way to shelves at multiple supermarkets, including Big C, Vinmart, Aeon, and Lotte.
"Yen Bai businesses are determined to promote clean production and ensure product quality to meet requirements and go on shelves in major supermarkets," said Khoa.
Businesses and cooperatives intend to study market trends and strengthen the application of technology in agricultural production to meet the growing demand of consumers.
