Conference scene
In the first quarter, the Provincial People's Committee focused on directing agencies, units, and localities to closely follow the Provincial Party Committee's Action Program 188-CTr/TU, resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, and the Action Program of the Provincial People's Committee to implement resolute, comprehensive, and effective tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2024 from the early days and months of the year.
The socio-economic situation continued to achieve positive results. Many important economic indicators maintained a relatively high growth rate compared to the same period. The estimated growth rate of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) for the first quarter of 2024 reached 6.06%, ranking the fifth out of 14 provinces in the region and 26th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
The cultural and social sectors received attention and achieved positive results in implementation. The healthcare of the people continued to be given attention, and social welfare policies were well implemented.
The security, political stability, and social order in the province were ensured, with no complex incidents occurring. The crime prevention and order maintenance efforts were implemented and achieved good results.
In the concluding speech of the conference, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, proposed that in April and the second quarter of 2024, all levels, sectors, and localities continue to fully implement the "5 determinations, 5 assurances, 5 enhancements" as directed by the Prime Minister at the online conference with localities on April 3, 2024. This includes resolute, comprehensive, and effective implementation of tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in accordance with the Provincial Party Committee's Action Program 188-CTr/TU, resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, the Action Program of the Provincial People's Committee, and the economic-social development scenario for 2024.
It is important to uphold a sense of responsibility, high determination, and exert great effort, actively and effectively coordinate with relevant agencies, units, and localities in the process of resolving tasks. Review and evaluate the results of implementing first-quarter tasks, especially low-performing indicators, in order to provide focused guidance and organization. Maintain consistency and coherence in achieving the goal of ensuring that the targets and tasks for the first six months of the year reach about 50% of the goals and tasks for 2024.
Timely address difficulties and obstacles, focusing on implementing budget collection tasks, attracting investment, and disbursing public investment capital, especially for key projects, national target programs, and programs for economic-social recovery and development. Take decisive action in the reorganization of administrative units at the commune level during the period of 2023 - 2025.
Mr. Tuan also suggested that agencies, according to their respective sectors and fields, coordinate with the Department of Justice and relevant units to review and establish a list of documents that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee need to issue in order to build detailed regulations for laws passed by the 15th National Assembly in the sixth session and the fifth extraordinary session. Thoroughly prepare the content for the 15th regular session of the Provincial People's Council (special session), ensuring quality and progress, especially concerning new policies and regulations.
