YBP - On June 2, the delegation of the Korean Business Association led by Mr. Park Sang Sik - Former Envoy, Korean Embassy in Vietnam; together with Mr. Yang Seung Kyo - Chairman of the Korea Business Association, representatives of some Korean enterprises and investors went to survey and explore opportunities for cooperation and investment in the fields of agriculture, forestry, industry and tourism in Van Chan district and Nghia Lo town.
Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the delegation of the Korean Business Association survey the Shan Tuyet tea area in Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district.
Receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders, representatives of some departments and branches of the province.
The delegation of the Korean Business Association and the leaders of Yen Bai province, went to the field survey to study the Shan Tuyet tea area in Suoi Giang commune, Van Chan district.
Suoi Giang commune in Van Chan district is located at a height of over 1,000 meters above sea level. The climate here is cool year-round and very suitable for Shan Tuyet tea to grow in association with resort tourism. The whole commune has over 600 hectares of concentrated tea, of which 450 hectares of tea are currently harvested, with a yield of 550 tons and an the income from tea is over VND10 billion/year.
Currently there are more than 1 thousand ancient tea trees, of which 400 ancient tea trees have been recognized as Vietnamese Heritage trees. Recently, Yen Bai province as well as Van Chan district has been investing in building infrastructure and planning Suoi Giang commune to become a eco-tourism resort to attract investors to exploit the local potentials and strengths for tourism development in Suoi Giang commune.
The delegation of the Korean Business Association also visited and learned the model of homestay development and cultural identities of Thai ethnic people in Nghia Lo town.
The delegation of the Korean Business Association highly appreciated the potentials and strengths of land resources as well as the development and conservation for the ancient Shan Tuyet tea associated with ecotourism development, community tourism, which has brought in income and contributed to hunger eradication and poverty reduction for the people here. Through this visit, the Association will continue to promote images, invite Korean investors to explore investment promotion opportunities in Yen Bai province in the coming time.
