The working session.

The project of sustainable development of highland has been funded by the development agency of the French Development Agency AFD. The project is implemented in 5 northern mountainous provinces, including Yen Bai, Son La, Ha Giang, Dien Bien and Lao Cai. The porject aims to support development of Shan tea industry in mountainous areas of Vietnam; protect natural resources; contribute to the development of socio-economic goals and poverty reduction for ethnic minorities. In Yen Bai, in the frame of the project, revelant department has  investigated and reported about the situation of Shan tea industry; provincial policies for protecting and developing the Shan tea area.

In the working session, Mr. Ta Van Long – Vice Chairman of Yen Bai PPC thanked AFD for implementing the project in Yen Bai province in order to creat brand for Shan Tuyet Tree in Yen Bai contributing to improve the brand value of the tea area, reduce poverty for the local people. Vice Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee also introduced to the delegation about Shan Tuyet tea area and provincial policies to support the development of Shan tea...
Yen Bai Province committed to implementing the regulations of the project and taking measures to preserve Shan tea varieties and guiding the local people in the project area to strictly implement the regulations and procedures of the project.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Bruno Videl wanted enterprises, local peple and local authorities to participate in the project to raise the value of Shan Tuyet tree.

After the working session, the delegation will go to visit Suoi Giang Tea zone and Suoi Giang Cooperatives; some tea factories in Van Yen
