YBP - Yen Bai, which has a beautiful natural landscape, is home to 30 ethnic groups, with many distinct cultural features and bold identity. There are many historical and famous landmarks such as: Mu Cang Chai terraced fields, Thac Ba lake, Dong Cuong temple, ... creating an image of Yen Bai with rich potential to attract tourists.
In 2018, Yen Bai province welcomed 560,000 visitors, an increase of 10.5% over the same period, exceeding 9.8% of the plan. Revenue from tourism is estimated at VND 333 billion (up 18.7% compared to 2017).
The above results are due to the province has actively developed many types of tourism such as spiritual tourism, eco-tourism, adventure tourism, experiential tourism .... Many unique tours, bearing the unique identity of Yen Bai are: "Art exhibition of crystal clouds landscape" in terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai district, "Yen Bai - Experience heritage journey", Paragliding Festival "Flying on watering season", "flying over the golden season", “Demonstrating terrain vehicles”, or Week of Tourism – Culture in Muong Lo; Khai Trung Green Highland tourism in Luc Yen ... attracting thousands of tourists.
Currently, Yen Bai province has nearly 200 accommodation establishments with many 3-star, 4-star hotels and homestay and farmstay of community tourism; nearly 3,000 catering service establishments with facilities and shops provide products to serve tourists in tourist sites and spots in the province.
Yen Bai strives for 2019 to welcome and serve over 6,000,000 visitors, including 30,000 - 35,000 international visitors; total revenue from tourism is about VND 500 billion; by 2025, about 380 thousand visitors will be welcomed, including 40 thousand international visitors; By 2030, about 1 million visitors will be welcomed, of which international visitors will reach 140 thousand. Total revenue from tourism is expected to reach VND 300 billion by 2025, striving to reach VND 900 billion by 2030.
At the same time, the province will strive to 2030 to develop Thac Ba lake tourist area into an eco-tourist, resort and entertainment center of Yen Bai and the Northern midland and mountainous tourist area with a synchronous system of material and technical facilities, with typical key products and branding for Thac Ba Lake National Tourist Area.
The province will focus on developing tourism products and services in key areas, focusing and raising the scale of organizing traditional festivals, cultural and tourist events of the province; priority will be given to exploit and develop community-based tourism products, discovery tourism, spiritual tourism ... in the coming time to promote and effectively exploit the tourism potential of the locality.
