An overview of the press conference.

In the morning of August 22^nd, at La Thanh Hotel (Hanoi), the People's Committee of Yen Bai province held a press conference to introduce the Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival and explore the national beauty of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields in 2019. Accordingly, there will be many special programs from August 31 to the end of September 2019.

According to the leader of Yen Bai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Muong Lo Cultural and Tourism Festival and Discovering the national landscape of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields will be opened with a unique art program with the theme “Essence from the legendary” showing the typical cultural features of the ethnic groups in Yen Bai province and the Big Xoe dance  with 2019 participants.

Besides, there will be special activities such as highland market, paragliding festival “Flying on the golden season”, photo exhibition; goat fighting contest, experience community tourism, harvesting rice, pounding rice, ...as well as participating in activities of local ethnic minorities…

The representative of the Organization Board informed that the preparation for the festival has basically been completed. The locality has arranged enough accommodation for the number of guests about 600 - 700 people. Along with that, Nghia Lo town and Mu Cang Chai district also mobilized agencies, units and people to have more rooms to participate in the service of tourists.

According to Mr. Duong Van Tien, Vice Chairman of Yen Bai PPC said that  Muong Lo cultural and tourism Festival and Discovering the National landscape of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields have become the trademark of Yen Bai. One of the new features of this year's festival is the first street performance, with the participation of artisans, people of all ethnic groups from 9 districts, towns and cities in the province.

This year's program will be attended by many famous Vietnamese singers.

Answering a number of journalist's questions about the future development direction, Mr. Tien said, Yen Bai province determined to develop community tourism, eco-tourism because of low cost and people can do it. The province is also developing human resources and transportation to support tourism.

According to Mr. Tien, recently, the province also has a resolution to support community tourism. Mr. Tien also said that, now, many people know the names of Nghia Lo and Mu Cang Chai of Yen Bai, but this is just the beginning, not as attractive as Sapa and some other places. “The province has a policy, we are hiring a consultant to re-plan Mu Cang Chai district, the goal of striving to be as attractive as Vietnam's second Sapa, ”Mr. Tien said.
