Many people from remote villages gathered at market on Independence Day.

For a long time, Mong people in Mu Cang Chai district have celebrated the Independence Day on the occasion of National Day on September 2^nd , and people dressed in new clothes and silver rings gathers in the town from remote villages. Here, people competed to play the trumpet, throwing Con, fighting oats and play traditional games... the so-called Independence Tet…

In 2019, after many years of interruption, Mu Cang Chai district will re-organize Independence Day for people, the opening ceremony started at 20 on August 31^st at the district stadium. At the opening for Independence Day this year, there will be a street performance called "Colors of the Mu Cang Chai’s ethnic groups".

There are many activities in Independence Day: people here attend colorful upland markets at the district stadium and on the Khau Pha pass; folk games: throwing Con, playing Pao, blindfolding to beat the ball, blindfolding to catch pig, blindfolding to catch duck, jumping Sap;  paragliding festival "Flying on the golden season" held from August 31 to September 1 at two locations: Mam Xoi Hill and Khau Pha Pass; art photo exhibition "Sparkling colors of culture – tourism” and beautiful pictures “Mu Cang Chai terraced fields - National landscape" from August 31 to Septem 9.

Organizing the Independence Day 2019 for the Mong people in Mu Cang Chai district, not only creates a cultural space rich in indigenous identity of upland people but also promotes the image of a land rich in tourism potential for domestic and foreign tourists.
